Interesting workshop for embroidery, graphic design or for the love of letters.
Between calligraphy and typography there is a sometimes forgotten cousin: the hand drawn letter. Its enjoys more freedom than its relations, but with this freedom comes a greater need for knowledge and understanding of the letter forms and their relationship to eachother. With the influence of the writing tool on the letter shapes as a starting point, we will be looking at which basic elements a letter is constructed from and what makes letters in a certain style hang together. With this knowledge we will be creating our own word image or a monogram, from sketching to finished art work.
